In keeping with their commitment to expand their presence beyond Pakistan, renowned textile brand Lala Textiles will be the first Pakistani textile manufacturing brand to participate in the Asiana Fashion Expo, scheduled be held on 18th& 19th February 2013 in London, United Kingdom. Indeed the Expo is regarded as the premier trade event for wholesales, manufacturers and exporters from the sub-continent to meet over 1000 retail buyers from the UK and Europe, focusing on the European/British Asian communities.
Internationally, having most recently participated at Pakistan Fashion Week London in November and May of 2012 as well as through several trade shows in India over the course of the last year, Lala Textiles will be participating at the Asiana Fashion Expo 2013 with both an exhibition and a catwalk showcase of their brands including La Femme, Sana & Samia – Magnifique. Their runway show designs have been styled by popular Pakistani fashion designer Sara Shahid of Sublimeto present a Spring / Summer ‘Sunshine’ 2013 collection.
Inspired by nature’s blue skies, sunshine and the beauty of spring’s flowers, this collection includes floral short kurtas, crushed lawn pants to long flowing chiffon dresses, creating a fusion and blend of the traditional yet contemporary, with a delicate harmony of the East and West.
On the textile brands participation Pervez Lala, CEO of Lala Textiles has said “Since we started consumer retail in 1972, we have striven hard to provide the latest designs within accessible price brackets throughout the year, to the Pakistani market. In 2012, we decided to expand beyond Pakistan, looking into showcase, trade and retail avenues in India, USA, UAE, Bangladesh and the UK to which we have received a heartening response. Our participation at the Asiana Fashion Expo 2013, as the first Pakistani textile brand, is therefore all the more significant to us as another step forward in our commitment to expand internationally in 2013.”
Indeed, having started as a trading house in Pakistan in 1947, the Lala Textiles brand launched its first retail label in 1972 and has today grown to encompass seven diverse retail brands providing accessible summer; midsummer and winter fabric ranges; these include lines such as Vintage, Sana & Samia, La Femme, Kesa, Brocade, Khaddi & Lala Classic.
