Our very own Ali Zafar has been invited as a speaker at the prestigious India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit 2012. This daylong conference happens annually and is specifically designed for the youth. It invites celebrities, politicians, key opinion formers, self-made businessmen and sportsmen where they speak on inspiring topics and incidents taken from their personal experiences and professional lives in order to encourage the Indian Youth towards a better and progressive future.
The speakers are inspiring leaders chosen from all walks of life to provide diversity and broaden the spectrum of the conference. The youth can interact and openly discourse upon a myriad of topics with their idols and role models. It is a festival that “that celebrates through ideas, music and art by recognizing the best in the field and also giving youth a stage to create, perform and engage”.
The Mind Rocks concept functions on the premise that an informal gathering that encompasses two-way dialogues with key speakers, live music and engaging with key decision makers is an excellent way of social exchange and communication. The theme for this year is “Be The Best You” which has been chosen in “in light of the unsettling nature of the fluid political and social environment of today”.
It is a great honour indeed for Ali Zafar who will address the Indian youth on “How I Made My First Film”. As a dedicated artist he rose to international fame not just as a talented musician/singer, but also as an actor and a conscientious humanitarian. The star of Tere Bin Laden, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, and London, New York, Paris, Ali Zafar is a multi-talented artist who is not afraid to test the boundaries. His consequent invite to this prestigious event is a testament to the waves he is making on an international platform. It is also a testament to the power of art that it can successfully transcend cultural/national boundaries to have a voice and expression of its own. It shows that art and cultural exchange is key to the betterment of future Pak-India relations.
