Fashion designers, who will be participating in PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Karachi, include Ali Xeeshan, Ammar Belal, Asifa & Nabeel, Elan, Fahad Hussayn, HSY, Libas, Maria B, Muse, Nayna, Nickie Nina, Nida Azwer, Rano’s Heirlooms, Republic, Saai by Saher Atif, Sadaf Malaterre, Sobia Nazir, Sublime by Sara, Teejays, The House of Kamiar Rokni, YBQ, Zara Shahjahan and emerging talents Akif and Mohsin.
First show of the night at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Karachi will be by designer due Nickie Nina and styled by Asmaa Mumtaz. While at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Lahore, there were turbans and floor length necklaces, this season at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Karachi, the designers take inspiration from the Ottoman Empire. “The influences will be taken from Turkey and the dervishes. We’ve done a futuristic version of the Turkish cap and taken it to a whole new level, it’s very angular.” told stylist Asmaa Mumtaz. Other designers to have used Turkish influences at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Karachi include Adnan Perdesy and British label PPQ.
Speaking about the Second PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, Chairperson of the Executive committee of PFDC Sehyr Saigol said: “It gives me great pride that the Pakistan Fashion Design Council brings to Karachi our second Fashion Week after the successful debut in Lahore in February 2010.” Besides, PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Karachi will also contribute towards relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.
