In recent years, many old and new designers have introduced innovation in contemporary and traditional wears of Pakistan. The credit goes to Pakistani Fashion Schools who are training competent Pakistani designers in collaboration with prominent national and international institutes of the world.
Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design (Former PSFD) is a graduate school for fashion design located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The Pakistani Fashion School was founded in 1995 and is known as the pre-eminent Pakistani fashion school. PIFD was the first institution to offer graduate training in fashion design in Pakistan. It is affiliated with Les Ecoles de la Chambre Syndicale Parisienne in Paris, France.
In 2006, the PIFD and the French Federation for Ready to Wear Women Garments (FFPAPF) decided to formalize cooperation and collaboration for the exchange of knowledge and skills and promotion of business between France and Pakistan’s garment industries. The agreement envisages a programme for development of the PIFD into a modern international fashion marketing institute, which could support and prepare Pakistan’s garment industry for the international market.
Dandy School of Fashion Design (DSFD-Lahore) & International School of Business Studies (ISBS – London) is affiliated with ISBS to offer a specialised programme that is unique in the field of Fashion and Business. Allied College of Textile Management & Administration (ACTMA), Lahore offers courses in MBA Regular in Textile & Fashion, Bachelor of Textile & Fashion and one years Diploma in Textile & Fashion Designing, Dyeing and printing.
National Textile College of Management Science, Lahore offers two years of F.A. in Textile & Fashion Designing and B.A. in Fashion Designing.
Pakistan Knitwear Training Institute, Lahore offers one year diploma in Fashion Designing.
Fashion Apparel Design & Training Institute, Karachi has one-year diploma and short courses in Fashion Designing.
