5 Must To-Do Health List For Ramzan

Let’s prepare ourselves for the most revered month of Ramzan when Muslims keep fasts and obey their creator the Allah Almighty and worship him more than in normal days. This month is accompanied with fasting for Allah, having sahari (the breakfast in dawn) and breaking the fast, aftar time. This month is meant to remove toxins from our body and making us healthy.

This year the month of Ramzan is set to start in July which is the hottest month of the year with longer days. So it means that fasting time would be 15-16 hours which is about the one third time of the day and the time remaining to allow eat and drink is only 8 hours maximum. In Ramzan we keep fast to normalize our diet but what happens we end up eating more food in the left over 8 hours than the normal days. This causes many digestive problems and health hazards.

Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The children of Adam fill no vessel worse than their stomach. Sufficient for him is a few morsels to keep his back straight. If he must eat more, then a third should be for his food, a third for his drink, and a third left for air." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi)

1. Healthy Sahar Meal

The most important of the 5 must to-do health list for Ramzan is to have healthy sahar meal (breakfast at the dawn). To make your 16 hours fasting an energetic time try to consume ‘complex carbohydrates’ or the slow digesting foods so that the meal stay longer in your stomach and make you feel less hungry during fast. Foods such as grains like barley, wheat, oats, millet, beans, lentils, and unpolished rice contain complex carbohydrates.

2. Exercise

Doing some exercise while fasting proves beneficial for the person with fast. It increases metabolism and makes the digestion system strong. Try to have a 30 minutes’ walk or 40 minutes cycling. It will burn extra calories in your body and will melt the excess fat stored in your body. It is also good to remain physically active whole day by cleaning your home or your room. 3. Light Digestive Aftar

The common belief in Ramzan is to eat more than the normal days. These all aftar time meal are not digested easily and disturb stomach as well. So, it’s better to have light digestive food filled with high nutrition like eating mix fruits or to have green tea.

4. Spiritual Health
