The Mijwan Welfare Society’s association with Manish Malhotra goes back to 2009 when ‘Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric’ was unveiled for the first time. 2015 is the year to celebrate time- honoured associations, craftsmanship and women empowerment.
This year influencers from the movie industry, who have left a lasting imprint with their work in the past, walked the ramp with their sons and daughters who are carrying forward their legacy with much style and aplomb Amitabh Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan-Nanda, Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha and Sonakshi Sinha, Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, Javed Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar came together to support this great cause.
Shabana Azmi, President of Mijwan Welfare Society says "One cannot even begin to imagine how empowering it is for the women of Mijwan to be pulled out of oblivion by Manish Malhotra and be brought to the steps of the film world. They now dare to dream and live their dreams, unfettered and unafraid."
