Launch of PFDC High Street

The much awaited and anxiously sought PFDC High Street platform opened its doors to eager shoppers on Saturday 2nd February at Mall One in Lahore. This venture by PFDC looks amply geared up to meet the needs of fashion oriented customers who are always on the lookout for variety, eye catching newness in styles, trendy apparel and accessories, with affordability being an inherent significant feature.

Launch of the PFDC High Street drew considerable attention and celebrity guests and the fashion masses crowded the place getting joy out of the huge variety on offer and noticeable were looks of approval and cheer. Indeed all those present generously complimented and applauded the PFDC initiative which had created another multi brand store.

The launch of High Street was accompanied by exhilarating fanfare and the ecstatic were the participating designers. One of them was Mariyah Nasir, a graduate of NCA. She came up with Collaging Colors, a label that is an addition to the fashion foray in Pakistan. Unique as its title, the Collaging Colors brand philosophy focuses on recapturing the essence and energy of colors through a variety of experimental and artistic treatments. Her bags ranging between 5,000 to 7,000 Rupees are identified as bold, fun, energetic and chic with playful, experimental yet practical designs. ‘My brand has a signature contemporary design approach that is much suited to the modern day woman. It believes in maintaining excellent quality standards and keeps its customers satisfied,’ a motivated Mariyah commented.

Defining the retail circuit of Lahore was Sara Shahid, regarded as queen of minimalist, who  also stocked at High-Street and seemed visibly upbeat about her latest move. ‘PFDC is a fabulous concept which is making fashion accessible to all and also facilitating designers with stores in Karachi, Lahore and New Delhi while providing collections of designers from across Pakistan,’ said Sara. Even though her own flagship studio is only minutes away from Mall 1 but stocking here means more business, exposure and coverage for her brand name. ‘I personally love designing my Simply Sublime range which is fun, colorful, and well-tailored clothing and I have focused on cuts and silhouettes,’ Sara explained.

Fareeha Baqir is a relatively new name in the Fashion Market and her label was also getting noticed by ladies in the plus thirty age category, who otherwise look much younger than their age. Fareeha’s section included immaculately finished shirts with emphasis on cut and tailoring. ‘I specialize in colors, cut and quality and people who recognize those features are attracted to my name; it’s not suited to young girls only,’ Fareeha disclosed.

Mall 1 is frequented by a number of clients daily and had picked up momentum in a short time; the need for affordable fashion all under 10,000 Rupees is making designer wear more approachable for the mass market. ‘The one stop shop High-Street concept will definitely be taken across Pakistan and hopefully internationally soon,’ said Saad Ali, CEO of Pakistan Fashion Design Council. ‘PFDC is constantly striving to pioneer the business of fashion and now with this project we are aiming at covering all facets of this rapidly growing industry. This store brings together all High street brands under the PFDC umbrella making fashion affordable and accessible for all,’ he said.

The brands that have come under High-Street are Adnan Pardesy for the Working Woman, Coco, Collaging Colors, Freeha Baqar, Hub, Kayseria Pret, MK Nation by Karma, Resham Ghar, Sehar Ali, Simply Sublime, So Kamal, Stoneage, Tela Vaquera by Ayesha Naveed and Threads and Motifs.
