APTMA 1st Textile Clothing Show

It’s the first time that the designer fashion show is held in Lahore, Governor House. It is expected that the 2nd show will be held in New York in March 2014. The event was hosted by actress/model Juggan Kazim. This event featured slide presentations and speeches of key figures of APTMA and the presentations focused on some of the foremost designers of the country. The accompanying clothing/fashion show was sparkling. A lavish dinner prepared for the guests delighted them.

The Chairman APTMA, Yasin Siddik expressed his respite and happiness for the implementation of an activity like this and urged to government to lend their support for more such events. He also thanked EU for changing preferences by granting Pakistan GSP Plus status. The largest employer of the country are all APTMA entities belonging to the corporate sector” Siddik said.

A slide presentation followed highlighting Pakistan’s achievements of key players in cloth and designing industry over the past years. It was an honor paying a tribute to its growth and successes. APTMA International Trade Committee head Amir Fayyaz termed the textile industry as “largest industry of Pakistan”. APTMA Federal Task Force on Energy and group leader Gohar Ejaz urged that the government must invest more in the textile industry to enhance trade and not let it lag behind in international business. “We want trade, not aid,” he said.

Chaudhry Sarwar, Punjab Governor expressed his gratification that Pakistan has achieved the GSP Plus status in the EU. “The textile industry is the backbone of Pakistan,” Finance Minister Ishaq Dar further added.

The event also included children’s show, where the cuties walked the ramp, all dolled and glammed up, followed by casual trend show where models presented creations by various fashion houses in Western attire. Ali Xeeshan, the Ace designer Ali opened the designer’s show for all, and presented a few of his creations.

The net umbrella stunt was entertaining. Omar Farooq showcased his Republic’s stunning menswear and successful in attaining audience appreciation with huge round of applause as the brand never fails to impress. Sania Maskatiya followed by Sadaf Malaterre with her unique dress collection. Wardah Saleem’s fascinating amalgamations had the audience captivated. Menswear designer Munib Nawaz, Zara Shahjahan, YBQ followed suit.

Then peoples favorite Kuki Concepts for its amazing black and white women’s’ wear traditional meets Western prêt piece. Very meticulously and prettily done, indeed. Élan and Adnan Pardesy followed. Fahad Hussayn orange and gold dress, but just the colours. Sana Safinaz presented a magnificent outfit.

The Finale was segmented with Crescent’s Faraz Manan with a varied range of collection. Shazia Deen of Neemaar had particularly designed the jewellery for Faraz’s collection.

The evening ended on a lavish dinner served to the guests at the event. The styling and make-up was done by Sabs Salon, whereas the choreography was done by Frieha Altaf of Catalyst PR and Catwalk Events which also handled the PR for the show.
 

A prestigious event has recently held at Governor’s House, which includes trade briefings, speeches by Punjab governor and FM and most importantly for the first time clothing show by various Pakistani designers is being organized.
