Famous filmstar duo Meera and Laila have jumped into politics to contest for elections 2013 from Lahore. Meera wants to become Punjab Assembly member whereas Laila has announced to join All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).
With the rising sparks of election in country, Lollywood actresses Meera and Laila have also decided to come into power by joining any political party and to become political activists by contesting in upcoming general elections.
Meera plans to join Punjab Assembly on one of the reserved seats for women. Meera’s mother Shafqat Zehra revealed that her daughter would take part in the upcoming elections on one of the reserved seats for women in the provincial assembly. “Yesterday Meera telephoned me from India and asked ‘mom please get nomination paper as I want to be elected’,” Said Meera’s mother.
Whereas Laila has decided to participate in elections on a general seat from Lahore as she had already declared to join All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) of Pervez Musharraf few days ago.
Laila said that she will not contest election but she will be elected against women’s special quota and it will be the best way to serve nation and women.
