Weddings weddings is all we hear and all we see. Colorful mehndis and vibrant dholki functions, with all dhoom dharaka is the buzz in the town. That means ‘khana’ and ‘khoob gana bajana’! Even those who aren’t into listening to Indian music much, get in the rhythm of the beats of latest Indian tracks.
The major constituents of our society – the celebrities, too are in the verve of listening to some good music. Designer Shahbaz Aslam, with all Shadi season on the bloom, is busy preparing dances for a friend’s wedding. He will be dancing to a Kishore Kumar song, ‘Dekha Na Hai Re’ and ‘Jee Karda’. He liked both the numbers, as according to him, they make perfect dance numbers. I like these songs because one can make various steps to the beat. ‘Jee Karda’ from the movie ‘Singh is Kinng’is becoming a shadi song day by day, because of its energetic beat.
The very brilliant Nomi Ansari is busy listening to ‘Woti’ a cool number but he isn’t awareof the band’s name and Billu Barber’s ‘Marjaani’And then there is ‘Disco Dildar’. He might dance on these masala numbers at his friend’s upcoming wedding.
Designer Amna Kardar prefers ‘Desi Girl’ and ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’ for her wedding playlist.
Well, the designers have said it. Now, which dance number do you have in mind to beat along with in the next wedding you are invited to?
