The Sindh High Court has ordered for removal of model Ayyan Ali‘s name from the ECL.
Over the past many months the Pakistani model who was accused of money laundering has been seeking permission to go abroad. As her name was on the Exit Control List (ECL), this had become legally impossible. To avail her rights, she filed a petition before the Sindh High Court. And now after many hearings the Sindh High Court has granted her permission to travel overseas.
In this connection the SHC issued the verdict on the petition of model Ayyan Ali which she filled in December 2015 and sought removal of her name from the ECL.
The plea of Ayyan was that by virtue of her name being on the ECL, it was not possible for her to proceed overseas and hence was unable to get medical treatment and also carry out her professional activities.
Ayyan had brought to the notice of the court that as she is not in a position to travel abroad her agreements out side the country are badly effected. She had also stated that this restriction on her overseas travel was a breach of her fundamental rights.
Ayyan Ali is officially a free bird, now that she's been taken off the Exit Control List.
