Ali Azmat’s rebirth as a rebellion

Amidst all the heart tickling mystical music from the Coke Studio, Ali Zafar and Ali Haider, here comes a reality blast from Ali Azmat! Yes literally a blast!

Ali Azmat is all set to unleash his latest music video for his new single, ‘Bum Phatta’ sometime next week. Bum Phatta, a blasting reality check of the political conditions of Pakistan, it’s a rock song with provocative tone and has already been deemed a hit.

Bum Phatta seems to be a perfect re-birth of Azmat’s long-haired Junoon days, but this time his Junoon is not spiritual, it’s rather a kind of patriotic, politically charged brash Junoon to expose reality of the common man and establishment.

While talking about the song, Azmat said, “You can never know how the songs on the next album will turn out, but one thing is always certain, you always make them relatable,” said Azmat. “If I only write about love or heartbreak, it wouldn’t have a real impact on the ordinary man. The songs should reflect the times we live in.”

As the name suggest, the album is really going to be a ‘Bum Phatta’ with its brash, politically charged and provocative lyrics and a new progressive rock sound, which is already creating a stir with the rock fanatics of the country.

The overall appeal of the album is risky and adventurous and that’s what Azmat said, “Music is supposed to be an adventure, and for that, one needs to keep experimenting with different things.”
