Maya Khan who began her momentous on-screen career as a child actor and voice-over artist at aged four, will soon return to the small-screen after a two-year hiatus as Pakistan’s first ever female game show host on the APlus TV channel.
APlus’s power-packed game show which promises to combine high energy entertainment; interactive audience participation and the opportunity for contestants to win numerous game show prizes is tentatively slated to be on-air late January or early February.
Maya Khan needs no introduction, as she has quite literally grown up in front of our eyes on television, from a child actor, to hosting myriad TV shows for children as well as a musical countdown show, later segueing into acting in drama serials.
As a teenager she acted in her first drama, the cult favourite ‘Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay series. Later, she had a role in the super-hit TV drama serial called ‘Bisaat’ alongside veteran artists like Nadeem, Arshad Mahmood and Jahanara Hai. With the advent private channels, Maya was also seen in a number of other TV plays.
Maya starred as the female lead in the popular drama serial ‘Laila Majnoo‘ garnering critical kudos for her depiction of the tragic heroine and also acted in the drama serial ‘Sheeshay Ka Mehal‘. After a break Maya returned to TV as a morning show host at ‘Bakhabar Savera‘ later hosting the eponymous ‘Subah Saveray Maya Ke Saath‘; both shows earning skyrocketing TV ratings.
Since that time Maya has become a renowned and well-liked household name and face on various Ramzan transmissions and marathon runs on various TV channel; a wholesome part of many families’ Ramzan time TV viewing.
Now in 2016, the versatile, energetic and entertaining Maya Khan wears yet another avatar as the first ever female game show host on Pakistani TV screens; a role that she will no doubt conquer and excel at!
The name and days/timings of the game show will be revealed close to the time of its transmission.
