Following the acclaimed preview and exhibition of the Sapphire Lawn by Sania Maskatiya in Karachi, the brand previewed their debut collection of unstitched and stitched lawnin Lahore at an exclusive event on the 6th of March 2013 at The Mall 1, Gulberg II.
Managed by J&S with PR by Lotus, the exclusive preview was attended by designers, media personalities and socialites alike.
Priced at a range between PKR, 4450 – 5950 for an unstitched three piece outfit and from PKR 3,500 for stitched shirts, the brand introduced 16 original designs, individually titled: Baradari, Matyala, Baba Dhol, Shahi Sawari, Kingri, Bahaar, Empress, Matyala, Anarkali, Zafraan, Pani Ki Rani, Dilkash, Darbar, Uraan, Bahaar and Mohenjadaro.
The collection further featured a range of print and weaving techniques. Sumptuous unstitched combinations of lawn, jacquard, chiffon and dobby dominated the line with some outfits including custom-designed lace, both printed and woven, for border paneling.
“Each piece in the three-piece suit packet can be stitched however the purchaser pleases. In fact, one can even make three kameezes of different styles out of one suit packet. The choices and combinations are left to the buyer’s own imagination, a freedom which distinguishes this line from most others. Additionally, seven stitched kurtas, matching the unstitched fabrics in print but in alternate hues, provide a welcome alternative to those who would typically shy away from three-piece suits. ”Said Nabeel Abdullah, director at Sapphire Textiles.
On the Sapphire Lawn by Sania Maskatiya collection, designer Sania Maskatiya said: “We have always aimed to use powerful and aesthetic prints. What Sapphire Lawn by Sania Maskatiya brings is the marriage between the quality fabric of Sapphire and our fashion house’s aesthetic to introduce 16 distinct designs, many of which draw upon our popular past collections and some of which are aesthetically new.”
