Pakistani film actress Humaima Malick, who recently won the first-ever South Asian Rising Star Film Award, in the Best Lead Actress category, for her role in the film Bol was seen wearing a stunning Sadaf Malaterre outfit at the award function.
Pictures from the award function show the elegant actress wearing a ‘Blackbird‘ dress from Malaterre’s Blackbird 1 collection which is a collaboration of art and fashion between fashion designer Sadaf Malaterre and artist Anjum Alix Noon. That collection has enjoyed much press coverage in the last several months in both local and international press. The design possesses an air of formality tinged with fun making it just right for the distinguished affair.
“Wearing a blackbird is being in an art piece and wearing an attitude! The Blackbird collection reveals a true soul in art and fashion. It is ultra feminine while the symbols and signs carry marks of the times.”, says designer Sadaf Malaterre who designed the elegant outfit for Humaima Malick.
Humaima was the only Pakistani to represent the country at the 9th annual South Asian International Film Festival, New York; the largest entertainment gala related to South Asian entertainment industry to be held in the United States, organised in collaboration with HBO.
Humaima was competing with Indian actresses Tanishtha Chatterjee, Parineeta Chopra, Rasika Dugal and Preeti Desai in the Best Lead Actress category.
Humaima has received much acclaim and won accolades for her moving performance in Bol, at the Lux Style Award and in London Asian Film Festival. Soon she will be going to Asia Pacific Screen Awards, where she is competing with Indian actress Vidya Balan, for her work in The Dirty Picture in Best Actress category.
