Teena by Hina Butt’s debut fashion show at PFDC Bridal Week is the launch of her formal and heavily embellished semi formal collection, inspired by the Baroque era. The Baroque era flourished in Europe during the late 16th to the 19th century, and was a time when romance, poetry and grandeur was holding strong – themes that are evident in Teena by Hina Butt’s latest collection.

“We have kept the focus on softness and flamboyancy, attributes which have been highlighted in the collection through flowing silhouettes and varying hemlines,” said Hina Butt, the CEO of the label Teena which in an extremely short span of time has expanded to become one of Lahore’s most renowned and visible fashion labels.

“We have used a variety of luxurious fabrics such as velvet, silks and satin to impart an opulent and grand feel to the collection,” said Hina Butt, who explained that she had been thinking of this collection for a long time ever since she visited an exhibition of the Baroque era in France. “This collection is our take on how the Baroque influence translates into contemporary fashions.”

The color palette for the collection is rich, consisting of hues of pastel pinks and nude fonts. It ranges from deep and burnt colors such as oranges, burgundy and ruby red to pale pastels, beiges and whites. A royal feel has been imparted to all embellishments used on the saris and other garments.
