Lahore (JUNE 15, 2010) – CityFM89 Celebrates the annual World Music Day by hosting a musical concert in collaboration with Levi’s in Lahore on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 4:00 PM. The concert aims to encourage the promotion of musical art across all sections of Pakistan’s society. In 2008 more than 15 music bands participated in CityFM89’s World Music Day concert held simultaneously in Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad. It was the biggest concert of the summer which electrified audiences and gave a chance to all the performers to bring their music to the public.
Since 2007 CityFM89’s World Music Day concert has enjoyed enormous success with participants such as Karisma, ADP, Mauj, Farhad Hamayun, Symt, Lagan, Shehzad Hameed and Leon Menezes. This year CityFM89 has once again invited local underground aspiring musicians to display their talent at the concert in Lahore. The bands include:

- Symt
We hope that with these celebrations, we are able to provide a platform to our upcoming musical talents and mark the world map with Pakistan’s community also celebrating music from all over the world.
It may also be noted that the on-air world music concert held on the 89 airwaves during World Music Week includes exclusive unplugged studio sessions by Co-ven, Mikaal Hassan Band, Poor Rich Boy, Bazaar, Arieb Azhar and various others. Concert recordings of international performing artists will also be aired.
Previous World Music Day events have been covered by renowned national media sources such as GEO English, MTV Pakistan, Play TV, Aurora magazine, Daily Times Newspaper, Dawn Images, K2 TV and City 42 etc. We would appreciate any efforts to cover the celebrations of World Music Day and the bands that are performing.
