AHAN Organized ‘Handmade Pakistan Exhibition’ in London

LONDON: Aik Hunar Aik Nagar – AHAN has organized ‘Handmade Pakistan Exhibition’ at High Commission for Pakistan, London, United Kingdom from 21st February onward.

This event marks the first occasion when AHAN is exhibiting rural handmade products of Pakistan under its brand name ‘Handmade by AHAN’ in UK.

The products on display in the exhibition represent just a small segment of the vast range of ‘Handmade by AHAN’.

Product range includes regional hand embroidery, Ajrak, Patch Work (Rilli), accessories (Apparels, Home Décor), Lacquer Art, Silver Jewelry and leather.

Mr. Maroof Afzal, CEO AHAN said that it is the first time that AHAN, a public limited company operating as subsidiary of Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation under Ministry of Production, is displaying rural craft of Pakistan in UK which can open further avenues for export of such products overseas benefitting poor rural artisans and craft person of the country. He further added that AHAN plans to arrange and participate in more exhibitions overseas in future.

The Handmade Pakistan Exhibition was extremely well received with dozens of visitors turning up to buy and inquire about the unique products and the stunning handiwork. Amongst the most appreciated products were embroidered truck-art cushions from Balochistan, Sindhi Ajrak and Rilli, beaded jewelry from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and lacquer items from Sillanwali.
