There aren’t many newlyweds who would welcome their spouse DMing an ex to say they were ‘fire’. But if Priyanka Chopra was annoyed her husband Nick Jonas was direct messaging his ex girlfriend Miley Cyrus, she didn’t let it show. Instead she replied with a jokey ‘lol’, while at the same time making it abundantly clear this was her ‘hubby’ they were talking about.
Priyanka’s comment came after Miley shared a screenshot of Nick’s friendly direct message. ‘Amazing. These throwback shots have been [fire],’ the Jealous singer had replied to an old photo of Miley and pint-sized sister Noah. Clearly pleased with herself, Miley made the private message public, saying: ‘That moment when even your ex knows your socials have been [fire emoji].’ Responding in a comment, Nick’s actress wife wrote: ‘Lol. Hahaha… Hubby is right. These posts are [fire emoji].’
Former Hannah Montana star MIley has been spamming her social media with old throwbacks in recent days. She tagged fellow Disney alum Nick in a vintage photo where she donned an old school Jonas Brothers tee shirt along with a ‘lols’, before she captured his response for the rest of Instagram. Miley’s tributes also include pictures of stars like Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and more. Miley was just a young teen when she and Nick first dated back in 2006 at the height of their Disney stardom. The two were together from 2006 to 2007, then briefly reunited again in 2009.
At the time of their split, Cyrus called the boy bander her ‘first love’ and remembered their split as the ‘hardest day ever.’ But the former couple have long been on good terms. Nick recently talked up Miley’s singing talents during an appearance on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio show last week, saying: ‘She’s a real singer. But we knew that because we grew up with her. ‘We had a song with her back in the day called Before The Storm, which is my favourite catalogue song of The Jonas Brothers. And at that point she was 16 and she was singing her a** off. So, it’s no surprise now that people are coming around to [her talent]. But I’m not sitting around going, “Told you so.” And, like Nick, Miley has found true romance elsewhere. She tied the knot with longterm love Liam Hemsworth late last year, just a couple of months after Priyanka and Nick.
